This webquest was created in ITC 514. This webquest was created to be used for 9th grade students in Lebanon School District. At the time of my employment at the middle school, all 9th grade students were attending the "Willow Street Academy" due to limited space in the high school building during intense renovations. The idea of a time capsule seemed relevant since the students are experiencing high school very uniquely. In this webquest, students use various electronic resources to collect various facts about the local and global world. Additionally, students have the opportunity to put their personal touch on the project by collecting items that they feel represent them and their high school experience.
I feel that this artifact adequately displays my knowledge of instructional design due to the various tools that were used to plan and develop this Webquest. The webquest uses a rubric, calls for student reflection, thoroughly explains the process and evaluation to students, and calls for a great deal of student personal interest and input in the product.

During my employment as a Program Assistant to the Keystones to Opportunity Grant, several webinars were completed to assist applicants in the pre-application and full application process. Part of my duties included creating the Powerpoints that would used in the webinars. Webinars were hosted through Elluminate. For this webinar in particular, over 300 people from across the state attended to find out more information about the grant.
While this project was stressful, it was also incredibly exciting knowing that administrators across the state would being seeing my work. I was also nervous because it was being presented live. I worked alongside my supervisor, the Program Supervisor and lead grant writer, to align my powerpoint with her talking points. This was also my first experience using Elluminate.

During the summer of 2011 I attended a training sponsored by PDE Commonwealth Libraries to become a trainer in Digital Curation. The program used was SpringShare's LibGuides. Since becoming a trainer, Hempfield School District purchased a site license for the software. Currently I co-author several LibGuides, which are publicly accessibly websites that house links to a variety of resources. LibGuides has several features which allow resources to be much more organized than a typical Wiki. Our library catalog can be embedded into the search which makes navigating sources much easier for our teachers.
With several librarians in the district representing different age groups and each with our own unique strengths, it is incredibly beneficial to be able to create a published document with the help of many people, without having to physically be together to collaborate. Both of these documents are LibGuides that are regularly used in our district - Digital Citizenship (resources for parents) and the Social Studies Curriculum. Both LibGuides were created by librarians and content area leaders or instructional technology specialists.
